Frederick Douglass and Harriet Tubman had two very different methods of participation in the abolitionist movement. Douglass spoke out about his life and experiences as a slave, trying to better inform others of the conditions that he and other slaves faced. On the other hand, Tubman made trips into the south to help slaves make the dangerous escape to freedom.
We've all head the saying "actions speak louder than words." Does this apply to Douglass and Tubman? Which of these two individuals do you think made a more significant contribution to the abolitionist movement? Explain your reasoning.
